Do Not Disturb

There is an infamous junk yard in Indiana that I explored the other day. I gave all of my attention to using minimal amounts of focus and pushed myself to find more and more extreme depths of field. Instead of focusing on the actual junk yard, it's strongest contribution to composition was to remain my backdrop-I found it to be more mysterious and foreboding if I kept it hazy.

Jodie and Mike's Wedding (at the Bahamas)

I had the opportunity of a lifetime-I was extended the invitation to help photograph a true destination wedding (here!) with none other than the endlessly gifted Steven. The bride was beautiful, the weather was lovely, and the water was breathtaking. Sighhh... Everyone should get married on a beach!

"It's a chopper, baby"

I had the opportunity to assist during a photoshoot of a Steel City Chopper for a motorcycle magazine. Once we got the lighting set up, I jumped around and shot a little using available light (modeling light). None of the images would have been publishable, since I was shooting on high ISO and had to stop down to a really shallow depth of field to bring as much light into the body as I could, not to mention the magazine would have been looking for images that showed as much of the bike as possible. I'll be honest, I can't even name the parts I was shooting, which made it easier to see the bike as an abstract work of art and shoot it as such.

Ginger and Jake's Wedding

I had a fantastic time photographing Ginger and Jake's wedding in Chicora! At the end of the ceremony, they hopped into their bus (love it!!) to shoot some informal formals at a barn down the road. Soon after, they loaded back into the bus to head to the reception hall where they celebrated late into the night! Congrats!
